New hair, don't care! It took me forever to finally decide to change up my hair, a decision that I went back and forth on for months. I was stuck on going blonde, but hesitant to spend the money (the last time I went blonde, I spent over $400). While most girls plan a specific day to make such a change, I did it on a whim. I had the free time, called the salon and simply showed up. This was my first time going to Xcellent Beauty Salon located in Bayside, NY. While the reviews on Yelp seemed hit or miss, I didn't really have much to lose (except some hair, I guess). Overall, I was happy with my results, although it did take some time getting used to. and I will admit, I almost had a mini meltdown wondering if I made the right decision.

I spent a total of $380 for this new look, which wasn't bad compared to what I've paid before, and was at the salon for about five hours. I opted out of getting a haircut because I was feeling cheap, the total with the haircut would have been $405! The cool thing about this salon is, if you go anyday Monday through Thursday, you get 20% off any service!

The major annoyance to hair this color is taking care of it. For a girl who hates washing her hair, I've pretty much been going to a nearby salon for wash and blows' to lessen the burden of doing it on my own lol. For the days where I have to be an adult, I use the Joico Color Balance Purple Shampoo and Conditioner you can get them both from Ulta Beauty! On those days, I have to put in a little extra effort, otherwise my hair feels like straw. After a shower I'll spray a Leave-In-Mask I got from Boxy Charm, made by Briogeo and after blowing out my hair I put some Lucious Locks Hair Oil from Diana's Candles & Soaps, I do a little flippity flip of my hair and I'm out!
