POST UP - FLAWLESS

And just like that, we are almost at the end of January 2020! Isn't it crazy how fast time flies? Today, I wanted to share with all of you my latest obsession, Diana's Candles & Soaps. Rewinding back to last year, my skin was a mess. I've had eczema since I was in grade school, and let me tell you - it was never kind to me. It was the one thing (aside from being super skinny) that made me super self-conscience and dread middle school. Not only would my skin be dry, I would also have patches of dry skin in specific places; from my knuckles, to my inner elbows and sadly my face, (right above my lips and on my eyelids to be exact - how mortifying.) It was torture living with this as a preteen but, with the help of steroid creams, it subsided. I eventually felt comfortable enough to stop using them completely.

Sadly, all good things come to an end because my eczema flared-up almost all of last year and I was at a point where I couldn't stand looking in the mirror. The patch above my lips came back and I felt like it would never go away. There was a moment during vacation, for a wedding, where I literally wanted to cry because it could not be covered with makeup. All I could see was how horrendous my skin looked and swore it was the only thing people would notice when looking at me. I'm going to be honest, while I tried to find a solution to this issue, I also didn't help myself. I'd go makeup free and apply Vicks VapoRub, yes Vicks, onto my dry skin. I'd put it on my face, my hands, you name it. It was to the point where I had a small jar of Vicks in my purse, at work and at home - similar to how people have multiple tubes of lip balms! Even if we were on vacation and in the pool, I'd bring my jar of Vicks!

It wasn't until our last trip in July that I decided that I couldn't live like this anymore. I needed to find a solution that worked for me! I asked my Instagram followers what kind of products they used for their dry skin and a reoccurring name kept popping up, Diana's Candles & Soaps. Funny enough, I had already placed an order with her but wanted to know if there was anything else out there to consider trying. I was also able to personally speak to Diana about my skin issues and she recommended what items would work best for me. She was super approachable and so helpful, especially when it came to giving advice to a complete stranger, like myself. When my first order arrived, the box smelled absolutely divine. I had been using body-washes for a while but for the first time (in a long time) I've transitioned back to soap bars! After a few weeks of using a combination of the Soothing Oats Body Bar and Sooth Up Body Lotion for my body, and CeraVe on my face, I saw a difference. My skin was looking better, my knuckles were healing, but for my face, I did eventually have to use my steroid cream as well, in order for it to fully clear up. If you saw my recent makeup tutorial with my BoxyCharm products, you can see how my skin looks without makeup, and let me tell you, had this been a year ago, showing that to the world would not have been an option for me. I am so thankful to see so much improvement!

Diana's Candles & Soaps offers various hand-made products, from body lotions, to candles, to soaps and body scrubs. Aside from the Soothing Oats Body Bar, I've also tried the Brighten Me Up Facial Bar, the Eucalyptus Shower Steamer, the Luscious Locks Hair Oil and the Apple Pie candle (which is currently my go-to home scent.)

I recently re-upped my soap inventory with the Soothing Oats Body Bar as well as the Bliss Body Soap Bar, and Diana generously gifted a few things I haven't tried before. I'm so excited to check them all out!

I can't describe how amazing the packaging smelled when I unboxed all of these !
